JYNX

1982

Spring 1982: Jynx evolves from a small garage in Fridley, MN.  The original band members included: Tim Handley on lead vocals; Steve Harris on rhythm guitar and vocals; Tom Edson on lead guitar and vocals and Rick Waller on drums and vocals.  Denny Johnson joins the group on bass guitar and vocals after responding to a classified ad in City Pages.  The band begins to play around the twin cities, including Mister B’s in St. Paul, Loose Ends in Moundsview, Boyd’s on the River in North Minneapolis and private parties.  The band has a hard rock sound and plays all cover songs, including songs by The Tubes, April Wine, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult and Eddie Money.

Fall, 1982: Denny Johnson leaves the band and is replaced by another musician.

Late, 1982: The band comes to an end.
